International Childhood Cancer Day

Each year on February 15, International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) brings the world together to shine a light on the realities faced by children diagnosed with cancer—and the families who walk beside them.

Pediatric brain tumors remain among the most complex and underfunded childhood cancers, yet research is where real change begins. Globally, there is a bold goal to eliminate pain and suffering for children fighting cancer and to achieve at least 60% survival for all children diagnosed worldwide by 2030—nearly doubling today’s cure rate and saving one million children’s lives over the next decade. Reaching that future depends on sustained investment in research and innovation.

At Imagine an Answer, the studies and scientists we support are driving progress toward that goal. New insights are emerging, innovative therapies are being explored, and hope is growing where once there were few options. Because of the generosity of our community, Imagine an Answer–funded research is accelerating discoveries aimed at improving survival, reducing long-term side effects, and changing the future for children with brain cancer.

Today, we honor the children we have lost, stand with families still fighting, and draw strength from survivors moving forward. Awareness matters—but progress depends on increased funding, bold research, and a shared commitment to imagine—and deliver—better answers for kids with brain cancer.
