We are thrilled to announce that we are going to Camp for the second annual Clay Bear Campaign!
Last year with your support we delivered Clay Bears to kids receiving treatment for cancer at Children's National Hospital. We were honored to work with the doctors, nurses, and families to bring some smiles to patients.
This year Clay Bears will be going to Camp! We are overjoyed to be working with Camp Sunrise and Camp Fantastic to bring bears to kids attending camp. The mission of Camp Sunrise and Camp Fantastic is to provide joyful and caring camping experiences for kids fighting cancer. These camps are opportunities for patients to take part in all of the great camping experiences that kids should have a chance to enjoy.
This “Clay Bear” program from Imagine An Answer to Kids’ Brain Cancer is for Clay Derderian, and kids like him who are fighting a brain tumor.
Being in treatment for a brain tumor is nothing a child and their family should be going through. Small comforts help a lot. We saw this firsthand with Clay. Having someone give you a new stuffed animal when you are in the hospital is a gift of comfort and a reminder that you are not in this alone. Clay took a stuffed animal along during every hospital stay and most appointments too. The wonderful doctors would treat his bear too – sometimes it got a head wrap, or sometimes a Band-Aid.
We will be delivering bears in July. Please consider donating now so we can hand out bears (and hugs!) to all the camp kids. Thank you for your donation and for supporting kids fighting cancer.
